Appellant appeals from the judgment and sentence following trial by jury at which he was found guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm, in violation of § 6-11-115, W.S. 1977, Cum.Supp. 1981. His appeal raises two issues for us to ponder and decide. First, we must consider whether it was error for the trial judge to allow into evidence testimony relating to the nature of appellants prior felony conviction. Second, we must decide whether the trial court committed reversible error by failing to instruct the jury that an element of the offense was that the firearm be operable.
